The alcohol brand from Bali, Holy Tirtha, has been awarded by the Denpasar Customs Office as the top-selling alcohol brand in Bali for the year 2022. This accolade signifies that Holy Tirtha is an authentic Balinese alcoholic beverage with strong appeal among alcohol enthusiasts. Since obtaining production and distribution licenses officially in June 2022, the Holy Tirtha brand has not only been enjoyed by the people of Bali but has also circulated in several major cities across Indonesia, such as Makassar, Palu, Jakarta, Bandung, and other metropolitan areas.

"It's an honor for me to receive the MMEA Traditional award for the highest sales volume in Bali from the Denpasar Customs Office. Previously, Holy Tirtha had also become the number one trending cocktail made from arak in Bali before it was legalized.

I had some doubts when legalizing Holy Tirtha because there would undoubtedly be a loss of the market that had been loyal for so long due to its exotic taste and affordable price. However, those concerns were dispelled over time. Within just 6 months, Holy Tirtha managed to achieve the MMEA Traditional recognition for the highest sales volume in Bali for the year 2022. This signifies that Holy Tirtha still holds a place in the public's heart. May the joy of Holyfans (fans of Holy Tirtha) be blessed by the divine. For a blessed happiness, greetings and peace," said De Bean, the Founder of Holy Tirtha.

In alignment with De Bean, Dewa Sidan Arie G, the Business Director (Co-founder) of Holy Tirtha, highly appreciates the recognition from the Denpasar Customs Department. The management team has a mission to make Holy Tirtha cocktails accessible not only to the people of Bali but also to Holyfans across Indonesia and even internationally.

"I've traveled to several cities in Indonesia, and the reception for Holy Tirtha cocktails has been incredibly positive. They never expected that a cocktail made from arak could have a taste, quality, and price that the market finds acceptable. It turns out that many people outside Bali still have a negative perception of arak (attributing it to after-effects causing headaches, hygiene concerns, and danger due to its supposedly high alcohol content that can ignite).

Here, I see that our responsibility as arak entrepreneurs is significant in changing the perception of people outside Bali regarding the quality and safety of arak itself. Yet, if arak originates from good sources and is processed correctly and legally, I believe it can rival many international brands currently prevalent in the market. Before we begin marketing at the national and international levels, the government's involvement and support to change this perception is crucial, starting from educating about the natural and hygienic base of arak to monitoring legal production processes up to the end-user.

The challenge to compete at the national level is substantial, but with synergy and collaboration across various sectors, the process will undoubtedly become much smoother. We will continue these efforts for the progress of arak, which is an authentic heritage of Bali," mentioned Dewa Sidan, currently also serving as a consultant for several major companies in Bali.
